FEATURES

THERMOLITE® HL-1 Insulation

FEATURES

  • 3D-Crimped Hollow and Solid Fibers: HL-1 utilizes a specialized fiberfill construction that combines 3D-crimped hollow fibers with solid fibers.

THERMOLITE® ACTIVE Insulation

FEATURES

  • Hollow-Fiber Structure: Inspired by the insulating properties of natural fur—such as that of a polar bear—this material utilizes polyester hollow fibers. These fibers trap large volumes of still air, providing exceptional warmth without adding bulk or weight (achieving a "lightweight/low-loft" profile).

  • Superior Performance When Wet: Unlike natural down, which loses its insulating capacity when exposed to moisture, THERMOLITE maintains effective thermal insulation even in damp conditions.

  • Efficient Moisture Wicking and Quick Drying: Featuring excellent moisture-wicking capabilities, the material rapidly transports perspiration from the body to the outer surface of the fabric, where it can evaporate. This keeps the body dry and prevents the cooling effect that occurs when sweat-soaked clothing draws heat away from the body.

  • High Compressibility and Resilience: The material offers excellent compression recovery and durability, making it easy to pack (requiring minimal storage space) while retaining its loft even after repeated washing and compression.

THERMOLITE® MICRO Insulation

FEATURES

  • Microfiber Structure: Composed of a blend of ultra-fine polyester fibers (for instance, the classic version utilizes round polyester fibers with a fineness of approximately 0.9 denier), which effectively blocks heat loss caused by radiation and convection.

  • Hollow-Core Insulation: The fibers—or the overall structure—are designed to retain heat; much like natural fur (such as that of a polar bear), they trap warm air within the fiber matrix and structural voids.

  • Lightweight and Unencumbered: Boasts an excellent "warmth-to-weight ratio," providing ample insulation without the bulk or heavy weight.

  • Retains Warmth When Damp: Unlike natural down, synthetic fibers maintain a degree of thermal insulation even when exposed to moisture or perspiration, and they dry quickly.

  • Breathable and Water-Resistant: Offers good breathability and is frequently paired with a windproof and water-resistant outer shell, making it well-suited for variable, cold, or damp climates.

THERMOLITE® TFI Insulation

THERMOLITE® TFI is a low-profile, high-performance synthetic insulation material designed specifically for footwear. Originally developed by DuPont (later transitioning to INVISTA, and now part of The LYCRA Company), it is engineered to provide effective cold protection and thermal insulation without adding bulk to the footwear.

FEATURES

  • Slim yet Highly Insulating: Features a thin insulation material that traps air and blocks out the cold with minimal thickness, ensuring footwear remains sleek rather than bulky.

  • Excellent Breathability: Offers high air and moisture vapor permeability, allowing sweat to escape and keeping the interior of the footwear dry and comfortable.

  • Wear-Resistant and Compression-Resistant: Engineered for superior durability compared to standard garment insulation; it maintains its structural integrity and insulating properties even after prolonged compression from walking and the pressure of the foot.
